Estate Planning, Wills & Trusts

Estate planning involves deciding how you want your assets managed in the event of incapacitation or death, including, but not limited to, the distribution of assets to your heirs.

Through the use of wills, revocable living trusts, irrevocable trusts, power of attorney documents, living wills, irrevocable life insurance trusts, special needs trusts and more we can work with you to design an individualized estate plan that best meets your goals and unique circumstances.

Probate is the court supervised process of administering an estate after someone dies when there are assets which cannot otherwise be transferred.

It includes proving the deceased person’s will is valid (if there is one), inventorying and valuing the deceased person’s property, paying debts and taxes, and distributing the remaining property as the will directs (or by state law if there is no will). We represent executors and administrators and help ensure that the asset transition is smooth and efficient.

Trust Administration

Trust administration involves the administration of an estate and transfer of property by a trustee after someone dies.

We advise trustees and trust beneficiaries with this process and help ensure the seamless transition of estates and trusts.

Elder Law: VA Pension Planning

The VA Aid and Attendance Pension is an income benefit many wartime veterans and their surviving spouses can receive to help offset the high cost of long term care.

Yet many families are not even aware that this benefit exists. These extra dollars can be used to pay for care in your home, in an assisted living facility, or in a nursing home. All the attorneys with Pearson Bollman Law are VA accredited and can, through proper legal planning, assist you in meeting the strict financial eligibility requirements.
