About Jacob Hjelmaas

Jacob was born and raised in the Des Moines area. After graduating from the University of Iowa College of Law, Jacob was a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Janette Rodecap of the 16th Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri, and then worked as a Jackson County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for five years, prosecuting cases ranging from theft to homicide. He and his wife Hannah live in Overland Park with their daughter.

Jacob practices out of the Overland Park office of Pearson Bollman Law. His practice focuses on estate planning, probate/trust administration, and elder law. Jacob is licensed in Iowa, Kansas and Missouri.

Jacob received a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance with distinction from The University of Iowa. He received his Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law. While in law school, Jacob was an Articles Editor of the Iowa Law Review.
