Jacob Hjelmaas

Jacob was born and raised in the Des Moines area. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in finance, with distinction, from the University of Iowa before attending the University of Iowa College of Law, where he served as an Articles Editor of the Iowa Law Review. After graduating in 2018, he was a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Janette Rodecap of the 16th Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri, and then spent five years as a Jackson County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney, handling cases ranging from theft to homicide. He began practicing law in 2018. Today he works primarily from Pearson Bollman Law’s Overland Park office and is licensed to practice in Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri.

Jacob and his wife live in the Kansas City area with their two daughters.
